I rescued Feather from the Fabrizius kill pen in Colorado in 2020. She came to me untouched, I halter broke her and saddle broke her. She is an incredibly fast learner, within 3 month of saddling she was able to be ridden with 20 other horses in an arena doing drill work. She has an amazing head on her, very quiet and willing to try new things. She is big boned, sturdy and strong. Never had a day lame. She is easy for the farrier and vet, stands well and is very respectful on the ground. She has ridden with a flag at high speed, been around bucking shoots with rowdy livestock, has been around guns, ponied horses. She would make a fantastic trail horse, she is the most sound and steadfast horse I've ever ridden on the trails. Feather briefly has had vices where she kicked out on her left rear hoof when asked to lift it, this vice only lasted a week and was sudden out of nowhere. This happened after I had put fly boots on her previously, I suspect she may have old trauma related to her back hooves. There is old cosmetic scarring on her back legs. She only reared with me once in a show, I believe it was excitement as she continued like nothing happened afterwards. Feather is being sold for no fault of her own. I am absolutely broken up about selling her, I thought I would have her till the very end. But I have 3 other horses including a 3 yro colt that take all my attention, leading to her not getting worked. She is young and super willing, she deserves a home that can give her the work and attention she needs. Feel free to contact and ask any more questions you have. Good home is an absolute must, she is a special horse and deserves all the best.
