Meet Gryffindor! Gryff is as sweet & personable as they come. He is a bay, 2008 quarter horse warmblood cross standing at 16hh. Gryff has a training background of English/dressage. Riding level is an advanced intermediate. He needs a confident, strong rider as he is driven fully through leg aids. Gryff would do best with mostly one rider only - he is not ideal for frequent changes in riders. He does seem to ride better in just a halter with reins attached, as opposed to a bit - he is very soft and respectful. Gryff does know how to lunge, but needs work. Unfortunately, he does have arthritis in his hocks, but is serviceably sound. With this, lighter riding with a balanced rider would be best for him. Willing to walk, trot and canter quietly under saddle; and rides almost the same every time you pull him out of the stall with no lunge prior necessary. He does well on the ground with a stern leader as shown in videos, although he does paw in the crossties. Lower on the totem pole as far as turnout. No matter what, he is eager to please.
