Athena is 7yrs old, 15.3, kind, smart and well exposed for her age. For the last year and a half she’s been a trail horse for a novice family. Prior to that she was trained for jumping, flat work, pushed cattle, rode by all ages in many disciplines and has been a pleasure to be around. She is good for the vet and farrier. Her teeth were floated in October. She has never had joint injections, never coliced or had any health issues. Her family is getting out of horses and moving in about a month to Texas. ** please note** Up until about two months ago this mare had never been lame.. She does have a crack in her front right hoof that is NOT structural, not completely through the hood wall. I have two vet opinions, two sets of X-rays, two farrier opinions and all say with proper shoeing she will be 100% sound again. She has a tiny head bob in a tight circle to the right due to concussion on the hoof. I understand that makes this a tough sale! We are open to offers!! She will need proper farrier care often for 6-12 mo and we understand that is an expense and she is a “gamble” for someone. She is being sold as is. This mare was purchased for 20k a year and a half ago for a beginner 16yr old.
