8 years old, measures solid 16.2h and a half inch. I don’t say it often, but this guy is a saint! Really easy going, falls asleep on the cross ties, handles easy on the ground, definitely a barn favorite. He is kind and friendly, can turnout with other horses, easy to catch, good for the farrier, etc. No prep to ride, just tack up and go. Will hack out around property, easy to haul and ride off property too. Really just a solid citizen and kind guy. He also has good feet and is barefoot! Living in a day stall and turned out at night now. I know he sounds like a dream, of course Mr perfect can’t be actually perfect, he does have an old bowed tendon on the right front. It has been healed for years, and he has been sound on it for years, but I am not selling this horse as your next 1.10m prospect. Can he do a lower level over fences job without ever even noticing it? Probably, a lot of them do, I just don’t have a crystal ball. He would also be perfect for an AA dressage prospect too. I have no problem with PPEs, but please don’t inquire if this is a problem for you. Now for context of what he’s been doing recently. He came to me very underweight and beat up, and not having been in a program for half a year. He has an up to date coggins, had a much needed teeth float from a great dentist, started on a body work regiment, and has been back in a very light program for the past 45 days. We have not ridden him hard in this time. He’s mostly had light walk trot rides and hacks in the grass. Some trotting poles and some light canter work. He is a nice big mover, and he is very soft on the aids. Though he’s not going anywhere in a hurry and does want you to be clear and use leg, he is light to it, not a dead kick ride. He is soft on the hand too, easy whoa from seat. He has two leads but due to his last six months of muscle wasting he is still figuring out how to carry himself in the canter. He is kind and has a nice big rocking horse canter, he just needs some help from his rider right now. We have not jumped him, he just doesn’t have the muscle but I am told he was started over fences before. He is super safe, and ready to rock and roll and continue on in a program. The training and the aids are there, he just needs time and strength to keep it going. This is a really classy horse with a good future, priced right to snag up now before his price goes up after the new year. If he sounds right for you, please email, text, or call me!
