“Bernie” is a 2004 model Fjord gelding by (sire) Boe’s GUSTOV and out of (dam) Maceau’s MAYBELLE. He’s from a very classic Fjord pedigree and carries that solid, sound, and powerful Fjord conformation.
Been there, done that. Bernie has carried his teenage girl to win multiple buckles in competitive trail trials and high point at play days and Obstacle Challenges.
Bernie clips, ties, trailers, is good in and over water, drags, pulls, good with cows, has been ridden in parades, confident on technical trails and is very sure-footed. He’s been ridden all over Southern California and in high altitude areas (including Yosemite), and as a result is quiet around traffic and city conditions. Very easy keeper.
Bernie prefers the trail but has done arena work consistently. He is a no panic guy but is a thinking horse. Would pass a vet check.
Solid intermediate rider, he is a strong, forward horse needing a confident partner.
