An adorable young colt whose pedigree combines proven FEI horses from both his warmblood sire and his PRE dam’s genetics. Haiku has been living here at Hilltop for a couple of months and you can’t help but smile when you are working with him. He’s compact, confident, and learns quickly. We’re anticipating he’ll mature in the 15.3-16 hand range.
Sire Louisville HTF (Lord Leatherdale-Negro) is a rising star for Hilltop Farm. At age 7, he has already won the US Dressage Finals, was 7th at the USEF National Young Horse Championships, and has earned strong scores in his first couple of Intermediate I outings. At his Stallion Test, he earned scores of 9 for canter and ridability. This Lord Leatherdale-Negro combo is a magical one and has produced the Olympic medalists Everdale and Glamourdale. The dam of Louisville was also a Grand Prix competitor and his 1/2 brother is also winning at Grand Prix.
This is the first foal for this attractive, intelligent PRE mare. The PRE x warmblood crosses are proving quite popular with riders and given Louisville’s strong stamp we felt he was a good choice for this maiden mare. Her sire, Desplante XIII, is the sire of the FEI horse Prado DM.
Haiku is eligible for a number of different registries, so the buyer can currently choose the one of their choice and the seller will finalize the registration paperwork. He’s loving living out with a small group of foals and could stay here at Hilltop for further raising if desired.
