Regretfully listing my mare Witten Creek Duchess to a PERFECT HOME. Only selling as I need a more suitable family horse after having a baby. She is suitable for advanced riders or intermediate working with a trainer. She does best in a full training program at this time. Located at Mountain View Training Center in Granby MA on consignment starting January 1st, available to see in East Greenbush NY until then. Shipping can be arranged at buyers expense. Duchess is a coming 4 year old 3/4 Friesian 1/4 Percheron, registered with Friesian Heritage Horse, she was bred by Witten Creek Farm in Ohio. I have had her since she was a weanling. Her Sire is Vorn MFF. Vorn is a son of Doaitsen 420 Sport and out of a Kroon mare sired by Beart 411. Doaitsen is the four time USEF Friesian Stallion of the Year. Beart 411 is the two time driving champion of the Netherlands and a son of the fabulous Jasper 366. Duchess’ dam is Lady’s Blue Girl, a blue roan 1/2 friesian 1/2 Percheron. Her sire is Weibren fan F.C., by Ouke 313 and out of a mare by Krist 358. Duchess is 17.2-17.3hh. She has had 9 months of professional training at Mountain Creek Training Center in Massachusetts under Dan Dali for driving and riding. She is a fantastic and very smart mare, knows some dressage/lateral work in hand. Has shown at the Northeast Friesian Counsel Show and done very well. She would likely excel in dressage, driving, she is a very big mover. She does not do too well with a lot of time off, which is typical of a young horse of her age. She is sweet, quick to learn and very personable. Wolf teeth have been removed. Stands good for farrier and vet. Turned out with other mares and is bottom of pecking order. Never bred, but has potential to make a good mother at some point. Currently barefoot but has worn shoes as well during training. She loads in ramp and step up trailers. She bathes, ties, cross ties, and blankets. Has done some desensitization clinics, exposed to clippers, tarps. She will line up to the mounting block for you to get on. Currently going well in a hanging cheek/ baucher snaffle, also does well in Pelham or Kimberwick. Potentially can be sold with some tack and blankets. Has never jumped. She is very in your pocket type and loves attention and pop tarts. She does not bite, kick, etc but does have some young horse behaviors and can get excited on windy days, hence the experienced rider needed. Many, Many photos and videos available.
