Perk is everything I love about a thoroughbred - sensitive, willing, and athletic

Today was his first trip off property and for being a baby horse that’s pretty out of shape and pretty unsure what his job is, he really had a lot of really lovely moments.

He’s an easy keeper, and stays out 24:7 in a mixed herd with no problems. If you looked at him and I had you guess what he is, a 5 year old thoroughbred would probably not be your first few guesses 🙂

He has A LOT of personality and cracks me up on a pretty daily basis. His favorite thing to do is play with the reins in his mouth after a ride. Really just in general, he’s kind of like a toddler that wants to put everything in his mouth.

This guy is so cool, and has a lot of potential, but I do think he’ll need a fairly confident, tactful rider to bring out the best in him. He is a good boy, but he is a pretty powerful horse and likes to play occasionally 😎 He thinks it’s really hilarious, and if you can laugh with him and move on, you’ll probably get along just fine.

He’s been doing the hunter/jumper job with a junior for the last two years, and apparently has also done some foxhunting with a previous owner as well. His current owner is a college kid and just doesn’t really have time to keep him consistent.
