Stagetime’s Shot Thru the Heart (Shooter) 9 year old 15.1hh Morgan x Friesian gelding Shooter was bred selectively at Stagetime Farms in Washington State, out of a beautiful Morgan performance horse mare and by a Friesian stallion. Shooter was a one owner horse until he came to training with us in May of 2023. Shooter will excel at western dressage- he took two first places with scores in the 60s at his very first western dressage show back in March. He did as well as expected and was extremely well behaved, with no qualms with being in an unfamiliar arena in a show setting. He is giddy to load up to go on trail rides. On the trail, he is a natural leader and wants to march ahead. He is polite to other horses on the trail and falls in line when needed and asked. While he is not the type bubbling with energy to GO (he much prefers walking and jogging/trotting to loping or cantering), once you get him moving, Shooter does enjoy moving forward and so is also schooled huntseat and classical- he is not for the lazy rider. He will do anything you ask and has come along nicely into his jog and lope, though he is still a forward moving horse, much like either a Morgan or a Friesian. He has been used intermittently in lessons for advanced students, but he is not a horse for a beginner-lower intermediate rider without trainer supervision. Shooter bathes, hard ties, crossties, loads, and stands well for the farrier. Shooter does NOT clip. Shooter does not buck, rear, crib, has no history of colic or injury, and is not generally a spooky horse. Shooter has a very strong personality- he is not for a timid rider or handler. He will do everything you ask him to do so long as he knows you are going to ask and enforce. Thus, he is not a horse for a beginner or an inexperienced horse person. Shooter’s only big vice is that, unfortunately, due to an incident with a stall cleaner some time ago, Shooter must be tied while cleaning his stall or else he likes to be a bully about it. His coggins and vaccines are up to date and his teeth were just floated in October. We LOVE this horse and someone is going to get their buddy for life! Located in Las Vegas.
