Honest post: Domino- an 11 year old 14.1 Appaloosa gelding for consideration. He does not have papers but you can definitely do a hardship registration on him. Before me this guy was previously teaching beginner riders- mostly walk/trot lessons. He is super quiet and on the lazier side but he is very responsive to leg. He is trained in English, western and liberty although I have only done English with him. When I got him, I restarted him using the method. We have been doing a lot of poles/cavalletti work and he has readily gone over some small jumps at the trot. On the lunge we have been practicing some taller jumps and he has done well. He will w/t/c, side pass, back, turn on the forehand and haunches. This horse is very safe. He has never tried to buck or pull any funny business under saddle. He stands tied quietly and has had no issues with loading in the trailer. I have done some simple lead changes on him but have not tried flying. The reason I am selling him is that a chip was recently found in his fetlock and his price is reflective of that. Because of this, I fear he will need maintenance injections or chip removal- things I don’t have the budget for with an upcoming move. With these things he should be able to do anything. I believe without maintenance injections or chip removal, he would be best suited for light riding- kids horse, trail riding, light area riding once a week, etc. Dom is a pretty easy keeper but can be pushy about food. He typically gets along with other horses but is defensive during feeding time with high reward food like grain. He is up to date on vaccinations and had his teeth floated in the last couple of months. He does well barefoot and is trimmed every 6 weeks. He is good for the farrier. I am in the veterinary field and happy to share everything I know about his medical history and the radiographs I have. Feel free to reach out with any questions.
