Shining Chrome aka “Shimmer” is a 2010’ model 15.2H AQHA sorrel mare. If you’re looking for something absolutely SAFE for your grandma to trail ride but also want something you or the kids can go compete on, Shimmer is the perfect fit! She is absolutely puppy dog gentle and will take care of any level of rider! She has spent the last few years running barrels with a young girl and unfortunately life got in the way and she had to sell her due career changes. Shimmer is easy on the barrels and would be the perfect horse for a kid ready to step up or someone looking to just cruise and have fun! She’s as honest as they come and knows her job! We’ve struggled with how to represent this horse because she is an extremely laid back, gentle, sane, SOLID trail horse as well. You absolutely DO NOT need to run barrels to enjoy this horse! Don’t let the words “barrel horse” scare you! She is absolutely not hot or illy broke as some assume barrel horses are! Shimmer will take care of anyone, anywhere and do so willingly! She is one of the easiest horses we have ever had the pleasure to represent! She will pack a beginner or timid rider and take care of them every step! She’s not spooky in the slightest, has ZERO buck, bolt or rear and is truly one of the kindest horses you’ll find. She is handy broke and neck reins around perfect, moves off leg, switches gaits right when asked and stop as soon as you tell her to. Shimmer has one of the best personalities we’ve seen from a mare and she’s currently turned out in a herd of crabby mares and she never feeds in to the drama! Call her name or whistle and she runs straight to you! This mare deserves to go be someone’s heart horse whether that’s in the barrel pen or trails! While she likes running barrels, we feel Shimmer would be just as happy as a pleasure trail horse! In north Texas competition she’s a consistent 3/4D horse. Her previous owner did rodeo on her on the east coast and she has clocked in the 1/2D out that way! She runs in a snaffle and is EASY EASY EASY in the arena and out! She loads, hauls, leads bathes and ties great and has no major vices or quirks! Shimmer is UTD on teeth, feet, wormer, coggins and ready to go to her new home to be someone’s number one!
