Selling our just turned 8yo red roan mare. Esme is a titled mustang from the South Steens herd. She is about 14.1hh and was part of the Oregon Teens and Mustang Challenge in the summer of 2021. She won first place in body composition and in trail and was 4th over all in the adult in hand division! She’s very pretty as well. Esme has been in professional training for finishing/riding on and off for the last 4 years. She is a willing learner with a confident rider and has all the groundwork for showmanship, trail, and ranch work. From in-hand, to trail riding or competing, to throwing a rope off of her or gaming, she’s done it all! She could go in any direction and is a great all around horse! We have thrown three children on her(at a time) and has no bite, bolt or buck. Truly no spook, and has been exposed to very high traffic barns, taken her to the last 4 years of rodeos for our daughter and has done some barrels and goats and started basic poles. I’ve given basic riding lessons to children with her several times and she’s very safe! She’s great on her own or in a herd. She’s carried flags in rodeos and been around multiple dogs, goats, deer, tractors, just a solid mare in any direction. Ive done liberty work with her and she is very joined up. She does talk with her head a little if I had to find something to pick on her about. But, it’s just her character and is not unsafe or too annoying. Esme will load in any trailer by sending her in or leading her. Farriers love her manners. You can clip or bathe her effortlessly. She stands still for the saddle, bridle, and to mount. I have trained my other horses with her and she will pony, other horses anywhere, beach, trail, road, ranch, water! She LOVES going into deep water and will play and play! I’ve ridden her wide open at the beach going full throttle and have had years of great trail rides! Selling Esme is going to be the hardest for me as she is my heart horse, but due to no fault of her own, we have had to go in a different direction for my daughter and we do not want Esme’s talents and love to be wasted. She’s extremely dependable, trained, safe and could really go in any direction for anyone! Not to mention, she is mistaken for a quarter horse all the time in arenas and shows! She is very much a part of our family and has really been there for us for any adventure!
