Della was raised up to be a reining horse but sustained an injury in turnout which prevented her from being shown beyond some small schooling outings. Especially unfortunate because she was an excellent athlete and showed tremendous potential. That said, I pursued the broodmare option with her instead and she has proven herself an equally capable dam. Her first foal (sorrel filly) came in March of 2022, and her second (palomino colt) in April of 2024. She is amicable and easy to handle with a foal at her side as well as without. She is confident in her handlers and permits easy handling of her foals as well. She has been with a small band of broodmares this last year with a couple of foals running around. Easily co-mothered her foal with one of the foal-less mares in the band. Easy to haul, clip, load, bathe. Exrays from 2020 showed a cist in her right hoof capsule, suspected to be the cause of the soundness issue. Cycles early and predictably, easy to track when she will be receptive for breeding. Breed her to incorporate some classical all around bloodlines, breed her for her personal athleticism and trainability, breed her for her classically QH face, or use her as a recip and feel confident in her ability to carry a healthy foal. 5 panel negative through parentage. Breed leases will be considered.
