Cassie is a 17yo grade palomino QH mare. She stands at 14.2 and does best with at least front shoes. During the winter Cassie can get very fluffy and has been full body clipped in the past; she generally falls asleep for the clippers! Cassie settles in well in new places, has been hauled often to different arenas for shows and has been trail ridden frequently. She is only for sale as her owner wants to be a lot more competitive than Cassie, but knows Cassie still has a lot to offer. She is sound and only needed hock injections when she was heavily competing. Cassie has had a life of teaching her riders many life lessons in riding and horsemanship and is now ready to teach her next person. Cassie has done just about everything under the sun and was used primarily for gaming in 4h and WAHSET. That being said, we are not looking to sell Cassie to another gaming home. Those days are behind her, and she would instead like to teach the next person all of her cool skills and maybe learn some new ones in either jumping, or ranch type events. She really enjoyed sorting as well! She is very broke to ride, has been ridden English, western, and bareback, and really enjoys having a job. Cassie has great ground manners and is respectful of boundaries once you set them. She has almost always received a blue ribbon at the county fair in showmanship and succeeded greatly in an in-hand obstacle event in WAHSET. We think she could really enjoy going to county fair for performance events instead. She is also good at longing and is very respectful on a line or free longing in a round pen. Cassie would be a great horse to have at home to enjoy trail rides on or could be an awesome asset to a lesson program that doesn’t do gaming. Cassie would do best with a knowledgeable and confident handler as she can be an alpha mare if she sees the opportunity. We will be very picky where this mare ends up as she has meant a great deal to her current kid and her family.
