He is an off the track thoroughbred with a lip tattoo to prove it. Fun fact is that his first home was owned by Toby Keith! When we look him up it seems he raced a handful of races in 2015 and 2016. He went by Baldridge back then. I have had him about 2 years and I need to sell him to make room for another horse I am getting for my 6 year old to train and ride. Toby is seriously the sweetest boy, and just a big lover. I compare him to a dog because he is so gentle and sweet. He is a big boy and just a little too much for my daughter to ride on her own. He does great being lead around with kids on his back but doesn't like to keep moving forward when they are given the reigns. He is so smart and confident I think he just needs a rider with more smarts than a 6 year old beginner. I have enjoyed taking him on trails and just walking on the dirt roads near us. He rarely spooks and is a very quick learner. He is always up for an adventure. I ride him english but from what I know he has been ridden western as well. He has a very big trot and canter which is also more difficult for a young kid if not a confident rider. He has had some stiffness/ soreness in his back from time to time but usually goes away the more we warm him up and use him. Its most likely related to his racing days but there is nothing obvious that the vet has been able to find. I have been doing a lot of natural horsemanship training with him to make sure he is ready for the next owner. I can send videos of what he is learning if your interested!
