Glendale's Glory B is a Virginia homebred five year old, 16h, Connemara x Percheron mare. Gloria is a born fox hunter with multiple seasons of experience. She hill-topped lightly as a three year old with Blue Ridge and continued on as a four year old in both third and second flights. Her slow and consistent exposure to the field hunter life has really set her up for confidence and success. This year she has been out both hill-topping and second flight with Glenmore Hunt and Farmington Hunt. Gloria is incredibly sure-footed and handles the variety of terrain confidently in all three gaits. She requires no prep, is happy anywhere within her field, she's not worried by other horses bumping into her or greener horses around her and she stands great at checks. She has a soft snaffle mouth and is all around simply a relaxing horse to get to hunt. At home Gloria is super easy in the barn, leads softly, ties well, easy to groom and prep and enjoys working solo or with a group. She has a lovely mind which makes her both easily trainable and enjoyable to get to work with. Gloria is well suited for a ladies or a gentleman's field hunter as well as a field masters horse. While she hasn't been a staff horse, she is confident on her own and would likely be well suited to the job. Gloria has jumped small courses and with more experience, fitness and strength over fences she could absolutely be developed into a first flight horse.
