Dixie is an 8 year old Grade Quarter Horse mare. She is 14.2hh. She was started a few years ago but had limited exposure and saddle time. Dixie can longe, and do all the basic groundwork and handling any horse should be able to such as hard tie, groom, feet handling (her owner is a professional farrier), lead, saddle, trailer, etc. Trims every 7 weeks, goes barefoot. UTD on shots and teeth. The last month she's had a restart with a professional trainer and can successfully W/T/L and she is starting to understand shoulder control for a turnaround. Dixie is smart and willing with no buck or rear. She can be a little jumpy, however, and needs continued desensitizing and exposure. She is best suited for a skilled and quiet rider that is willing to stay consistent with her. I think with more time and training she could be a great candidate for ranch riding, dressage, or cow events as she's nimble and quick footed with correct gaits. Or make her a rope horse or rodeo. Stalls or pastures, good with neighboring horses. Been doing a lot of in hand work as well, including showmanship training, obstacles, rope handling, and dragging logs. Happy to keep her in the training barn if buyer is interested in having me continue her training. Located in Erda, UT. Video: (currently I have a fractured foot so I can't show her at a lope) https://youtu.be/Q7cbOJl7TA0?si=1Hyvfla8k7oHOpE6
