A true trail horse, Phoenix confidently goes out alone or in a group, whether leading or following. He handles varied terrain, is unfazed by dogs, and has even enjoyed beach rides while carrying an 11-year-old rider. While he prefers the trails, he is well-mannered in the arena, walking, trotting, and cantering both leads. He has been mildly used in a lesso program with adults and children. He has exceptionally smooth gaits and naturally moves at a relaxed, easygoing pace.
