“Mischief” may be his name but he is far from it! Mischief is one of the kindest horses I have brought along. He came to me about 6 months ago while living in Washington state and took to training right away.
Mischief’s life before me is a bit of a question mark. He Trained on the track as a two year old but never raced. The story goes that after the owner passed he was put into a field. Who knows for how long. The girl who I bought him from didn’t have much history and was just trying to get weight on him and find him a home that had time for him. Even though I don’t know much about his past his future is going to be bright!
Mischief is still green. I have only been riding him for 6 months but has never offered to do anything wrong. He is started over cross rails, and growing stronger in his flat work everyday. His fluid gates make him a dream to ride and his loving, in your pocket personality makes him the favorite in the barn. He has been trail riding since being in Arizona. He handles bicycles, cars, dogs and people. This horse is constantly surprising me with how willing his is to listen and learn. He does not bolt buck or rear. His spook is a minor drift one direction or the other. He comes off the leg nicely and will be a forward ride, or happy to putt around on a loose rein.
He is shoed all the way around, clips, hauls, bathes, and ties. UTD in teeth and vaccines.
I have one X-ray of an old splint that is healed.
I wish I could keep them all but Mischief is ready to find his person and go in any direction!
