Poppy is better known as Puppy at our barn. First one to greet you at the gate. Loves to be with people. Gets along great with mares, and other geldings. Very easy going, and is at the bottom of the pecking order.
He has impeccable ground manners. Stands quietly tied, whether in single tie or cross ties. Easy for farrier, loves baths and grooming. Hops right into the trailer.
Stands perfectly still while mounting and dismounting. He has a slow walk on a loose rein, a great flat walk, and his running walk is to die for. He just floats above the ground, gliding with ease!!
He is a huge boy, built like a muscled Quarter horse, and happy to carry my husband who is 6'6. He is so calm, relaxed, and willing to do anything asked of him. He direct reins, neck reins, and also moves nicely off leg pressure. We put all of our beginners on him, as his temperament is so easy going and forgiving.
He's been ridden in the arena, on obstacles, in traffic, and also out on the trails. He's happy to be in the front, middle or back when in a group.
He is just as easy to ride whether in a snaffle, a curb, or a halter. Saddle or bareback, he does it all! Very hard decision to let this wonderful gem go, but sadly need to downsize. You won't be disappointed!!
