Ace came directly to our farm upon his retirement from racing, where he received some well-deserved down time before beginning his retraining. Once under saddle, it quickly became clear that he had much more untapped potential as a jumper and event horse. With this in mind, we set a goal for Ace’s first ever recognized eventing competition to take place at the famous Essex Horse Trials in June of 2024. Not only did Ace reach this bold goal, but he completed it successfully with an impressive 5th place finish in the Open Beginner Novice division!

Since then, Ace has continued to compete in the jumper ring as well as further horse trials. He spent the 2024 season bringing home many ribbons in competitions such as the Sussex County Fair and Horse Show Ricci Desiderio 3’ Mini Prix, New Jersey Horse Park Horse Trials, as well as other rated jumper shows and horse trials. He is ready to continue moving up in his new career. More recently, he was ridden in a clinic taught by Boyd Martin, who was impressed by his scope and bravery!

Ace is a bold and competitive horse with the best mind and no spook, and takes you to any jump. He is not for beginners as he is a naturally forward ride and as such prefers a more confident rider with soft aids. He hacks out alone or in a group, and has been on hunter paces - great foxhunting prospect! He has the sweetest personality, no vices or bad habits, gets along with other horses in turnout, loads/clips/bathes/stands for vet and farrier.
