Smartie is the horse every rider dreams of when they purchase an OTTB. With a willing attitude, a solid mind, and a body built for any discipline, he is dependable, safe, and, above all, *smart*. Though still green over fences, smartie fixes distances, changes his leads (with proper encouragement), and shows plenty of scope. He strikes the perfect balance of whoa and go, both gas and brakes available when requested.

Smartie would be an excellent fit for an intermediate rider with a trainer, an adult amateur, or a professional on a budget looking for a versatile partner. We believe he’d truly shine in eventing, fox hunting, or paper chases, but he also has the potential to make a lovely hunter.

Smartie isn’t for a complete beginner—he’s still building his skills and requires a rider who can manage his motor when needed. With the right training, he can be finished in any direction and is sure to make someone’s dream horse. Barefoot and sound. Cribbing managed by a collar.
