Jed was started in a high end cutting program but didn’t have the gusto for the big league. He then lived on a working ranch in Wyoming, where we purchased him from! They showed cutters and reined cow horses outside of ranch work. He raised lots of kids there and was a “go to” type for them. They said he “packed more kids than a swing set” they only sold him because his kid was off to college. He’s 14.2 and nicely built. He has great feet, flat shod. Jed is as solid as they come, I’ve literally never seen him spook. He’s lazy and I think that’d take too much effort. We’ve had him 4 years. Always sound, no maintenance needed. He did have an abscess this fall which was his first one. Arena work, trails, 4h, western states stock horse shows and jackpot sortings is what he’s done in his time here. He rides western, English, bareback and even knows showmanship! I don’t have live cows, but we work the string cow for practice and he’s super fun. Won’t loose you, but likes to get on it. He’s won some $$ with super novice riders in jackpot sortings and scored a 98 in 4H cowhorse. Highest score the judge had ever given! Won’t run barrels unless you’re okay with a 40 second time! He’s UTD on care, will be due to have his teeth floated in the spring. He loads and unloads like a gentleman, straight or slant load. Easy to shoe. Ties, crossties… does all the things! Jed is a barn favorite and worth his weight in gold! He is only for sale as his family is downsizing. He will only go to an approved home.
