Are you looking for a nice all around horse? Oakie is your guy! He is very broke, been on the trail (prefers to follow), used on the ranch, goat tied at rodeos, carried flags, started on the heading side of roping and started on the barrels. Once Oakie is finished on barrels, he would be a great JR/HS rodeo horse. Although Oakie has training on the barrels, he does seem to enjoy roping better. The trainer advised with more time on the pattern, they feel he could make a 3D horse. He has been on the poles, but not patterned.
We do recommend at least a confident intermediate rider for Oakie and no kids, teenagers and up. Oakie does best when he is rode consistently, 3-5 days a week. With time off, he can be testy. He has never bucked, bit or kicked.
Oakie hauls, ties, travels well. He stands for the farrier (currently barefoot), good in the stall and pasture, alone or with other horses. He is an easy keeper with great feet. He is up to date on farrier work, dental and vaccines. He is sound and requires no maintenance. PPES welcome.
