Smoke is a 13-year-old bay grade Quarter Pony who has been primarily used as a 4-H horse. He’s competed at the Weld County Fair, NWSS, local gymkhanas and has been exposed to cattle, dogs, and kids. Smoke is stocky and conformationally correct, with a balanced build that makes him suitable for both confident kids and small adults. He’s a forward-moving pony with a strong stride, excellent use of his hindquarters, and the ability to cover ground with ease. While he’s willing and consistent, he needs a rider who is just as consistent in working with him. Smoke will take charge and do things his way if you're unsure or hesitant. He requires a confident rider, and if not ridden with clarity and purpose, he can become a little too forward or pushy. He knows maneuvers like side pass, two-tracking, turn on the fore, turn on the hindquarters, and simple lead changes, and is willing to perform them when asked. We’re selling Smoke because my 13-year-old son, now 6 feet tall, has outgrown him. Smoke is too good of a horse to be a pasture pet, and he is looking for a good home that will use him. Contact us for more information or to schedule a time to meet him.
