Lottie was purchased last September at a sale as a broke project. Their version of broke and mine were apparently VASTLY different. You could sit on her and you could race around. She had absolutely no buck in her at all but she was terrified of her own shadow. She couldn't really steer or stop and even the tiniest thing sent her flying sideways. We decided to take Lottie back to the basics. We spent the fall filling in all the holes in her ground work and teaching her to be a curious, confident horse instead of a horse that bailed at the slightest breeze. She has come a long way and is welcome to continue in our program. However I need to cut back on a few and if the perfect fit is out there for Lottie I would be fine selling her. I would love to find her someone that has the time and energy to be more consistent with her training. Although she retains things very well I have had a lot of health issues this winter and I have not been working with her very consistently. Lottie is great for the vet and farrier. She will stand tied or in the cross ties all day without pulling back but might dance around a bit. She stands quietly for grooming and blanketing. She is easy to saddle and pretty easy to bridle. She stands nicely to be mounted but likes to move off after mounting. Now when confused she errs on the side of freezing instead of bolting. Lottie lunges well and has been working on being sent over/through obstacles. She has gotten SO much braver than when she came. As long as you let her check something out and think for a second she is willing to try almost anything. She can walk/trot under saddle confidently (might take a little refresher as its been a bit). We have not cantered her under saddle yet. She was cantered under saddle by her previous owner and I can share those videos. Even when scared Lottie has never tried to dump anyone. She is a runner not a fighter when something comes up. She has gotten MUCH braver and has been ponied out on the trails quite a bit this winter. She has not been ridden out on the trails independently not because I think she would have any issues but because we haven't had the time to work with her consistently. I don't want to just throw her in the deep end and see if she can swim; I want to set her up to be as successful as possible. Lottie is lower in the pecking order. She is on free choice netted grass hay. She is easy to catch and was super easy to load/unload when we hauled her to a friends indoor. Lottie is a super cute mover. To me she moves a little like a mustang. Big bold gaits, more uphill. She has been lunged over jumps but we haven’t been on her in an English saddle or jumped her under saddle. I would love for Lottie to go to an experienced youth or adult. I think she has all the potential in the world. Unfortunately for me I bought a lot of projects last fall and my heath didn't allow me to work with them as I had hoped over the winter. WT videos from 3/9
