Fry is an amazing trail horse. He will cross bridges, go over creeks, go over down trees & even scale a mountain side. He will go anywhere you point him as long as you have the confidence to go there, so will he. He spent his 5yr old year getting exposed to lots of different things. He has carried a flag, been to a sorting, a local gymkhana, the ocean and took it all very well. The ocean was scary but he did settle enough to get into the waves with some time to realize what the waves were & that nobody was trying to kill him. He has great stamina but isn't a hot head. Has been on many horse camping trips & does amazing. Hot wire, high line or tied he does great, only method not tried is hobbles. Cons: His spook is primarily a hard core stare followed by a couple back up steps, and then he will reassess. If he's still scared, he will back up some more but as soon as you redirect & assure him he's fine, he will often go & "touch it" because that was what his trainer taught him to do when he was scared. He has also been known to kick up his heels during the first lope after some time off. Not to unseat his rider but in an "I feel good way". I think Fry would excel with any confident rider but if you are a beginner rider or horse owner I would prefer you to be working with a trainer/riding instructor as he is still on the younger side & is very intelligent. Fry has great ground manners. Loads in any trailer & will back out. Stands for the farrier, he is currently barefoot & rides in boots on the front because of our rocky terrain but has been previously hot shod & did great for that as well. Due for dewormer & shots in April. No maintenance other than shoes or boots. Great guy to be around, have 6 others & he has more potential with someone with more availability.
