Royal Crown Layne Absolute (Barn Name:Bella) Bella is sired by the well regarded registered imported Dales pony sire, Rosebarr Gambler out of a Percheron mare. Bella was originally bred to be a driving pony but standing at exactly 15 hands, she grew a couple of inches too tall for the team. She is exceptionally personable, easy and sweet. She just turned 14 years old in October 2024. She is well broke to ride, having been ridden primarily English but started in western. As such she will move off your leg and neck rein to some degree, but she is not so sensitive that a less experienced rider would struggle with ques. She has had a great deal of professional training, however, her canter transition needs polish. She was ridden primarily by my very petite granddaughter and was rarely asked to canter for some time. Please note- I am not recommending her as a child’s horse or as raw beginner safe. When my granddaughter was riding her, she was in familiar surroundings and in consistent work under experienced adult supervision. As such, she has never been ridden hard or over used. She has been with our family for 7+ years, during which time she has been 50% pet and 50% under saddle. She will work in the arena but much prefers the trail riding. She will go out alone for the confident rider but like most horses, prefers the company of another horse. She is happy to lead or follow and walks with purpose. She will go pretty much where you point her and she will enter and or cross water. Advanced beginner safe in the arena with supervision and confident intermediate on the trail, she is a lovely horse that is the easiest to catch, tie, fly spray, bath, tack and load. She is sensible and not the spooky type. She loads and trailers beautifully, even alone. She is also very photogenic for the person who needs a beautiful unicorn type horse for photography. She will always give your forward ears if you hold up a cookie! This girl has had one foal and is presumed to be breeding sound. Her offspring are eligible for registry in the Dales Pony Society Registry as a part bred Dales or with the American Draft Pony Registry. Five star homes only need apply. References will be required.
