Buddy Meet Buddy! Located in Arvada CO *Please read the entire ad before asking me “More info on Buddy”* 10 year-old, 15 hand registered blue roan quarter horse gelding. From the moment you meet him, Buddy’s puppy dog nature will melt your heart. Buddy is a true all-around gelding, versatile enough to shine in any setting. We do recommend an intermediate rider for any arena work or working cattle but on the trail and walk trot arena work he has had countless beginners on him. Why? Because Buddy is not good at taking a joke. As in, he can get frustrated easily if he does not understand what you’re asking. For example, want him to side pass to open a gate and you don’t know how to properly ask? Buddy will get upset and shut down. He is not nasty in any way we just want to be honest about what we have. He is not perfect, but in our eyes pretty dang close. With years of experience under his belt, Buddy has proven himself repeatedly on countless trail rides, navigating creeks, crossing state roads, and handling various obstacles such as bridges, steep hills, and wildlife with ease. His traffic-safe attitude makes him a great companion whether you are on busy roads or quiet trail rides. Buddy’s training is extensive, he neck or direct reins and moves so nicely off your leg. He is fresh out of a 90 day program with a professional cutting trainer where he sharpened his skills on working flag, cattle, chasing sled, closing gates, side passing and more. His gaits are smooth, offering a comfortable ride whether you are walking, trotting, or loping. You could sit his jog all day. He has been desensitized to tarps, gun fire, pool noodles, flags, umbrellas, and even a blowing advertisement. Buddy’s willingness to please extends to his work ethic—he will lead or follow on the trail without hesitation and his easy-going attitude makes him a joy to ride in groups or alone. Loading and unloading him is a breeze, making trailering to unfamiliar places a hassle-free experience. If you are searching for a well-trained and versatile horse look no further than Buddy. Buddy currently wears front shoes. Buddy did kick a fence back in January but we have clean X-rays to show no major damage. After the swelling went down (on his lower leg) it does not seem to bother him. X-rays available upon request for serious inquiries! I have this horse on consignment. Why? Because he is owned by a family and they need a horse that the whole family can ride in any setting not just on the trails and slow arena work. Please PM with questions not answered in the above ad.
