“Salt” a 15 (16 in a couple days) year old registered thoroughbred mare.
She is by far the best minded thoroughbred I have ever come across. She is very smart and picks things up quickly. She is NOT spooky. She rides perfectly down the trails lead or following. I ride her in our outdoor arena right next to a busy road and she’s never phased. I’ve ridden her alone in big open fields and I can completely trust her. She listens to her rider and wants to please. She stands tied and also ground ties. She goes English and western.
She has done everything I’ve asked of her. I primarily rode her English and did jumping but her previous owners mainly rode her western.
We have hauled her to many new places and she has always stayed calm and levelheaded in new environments. She has been in IEA, 4-h and highschool equestrian team.
She truly is an all around horse.
She does well with other horses, she currently gets turned out with 2 geldings and another mare, she’s in the middle of the pecking order.
Only reason for sale is that I don’t have time to give her the attention she deserves. I’m a student in highschool and I am off doing other things and I hate to see Salt just sitting when I know she has so much to give.
She IS the kind of horse that can sit for a long period of time and you can hop on and pick up right where you left. She is very easy to bridle. She has Jockey Club papers, and she is also accepted with The Belgian Warmblood Society. She has been a great brood mare in the past to several foals.
