Meet Put A Rock On It, or “Rae’ as I call her. She is a 2018 model, 14.2HH flashy sorrel with flaxen mane and tail, APHA mare, an own daughter of LIKE A DIAMOND!!!!, out of a Docs Oak mare. Like A Diamond was a highly successful APHA and NRHA sire, known for his impact in reining and cutting, and his offspring earned over $1.7 million in earnings. He was an APHA Junior Cutting World Champion and an NRHA Million Dollar Sire.
Rae started out in training with a reining trainer in Texas. I purchased her as a turning 4 yr old. I haven't done much reining with her but have shown her in small local shows and have done lots of trail riding with her in the mountains. She doesn't get herd bound and could care less where you put her in the group for trail rides, she'll happily lead the pack or go in the middle or bring up the back. I've played some with cattle, done some obstacles. Rae was not finished as a reiner. Now, Rae is looking for someone special to enjoy her as-is or finish her off in any direction. She has super feet (no teacups here!)
• Has a collected WTL with lots of buttons, but can also adjust to a more lengthened stride.
• Is soft in her body, with a nice spin, stop, side pass, leg yield, and transitions.
• Is a steady mount and knows when a job needs to be done.
• I've only ridden her Western but I'm sure she'd do well in English and bareback.
• Has crossed highways, bridges, creeks, and all sorts of natural obstacles.
• Has been trail ridden both alone and in large groups. She can lead or follow.
• Has seen all sorts of obstacles in the arena and outdoors: pools, ropes, bridges, hula hoops, tarps, tractor tires, etc.
• Has played around with cattle.
• She has a great brain to work through problems and only needs a bit of patience if she’s not sure how to achieve success.
• Has polite ground manners. Leads, loads, ties, stands for farrier, etc.
• Does need minor maintenance.
Rae is a fantastic girl and will make someone an amazing partner. From the trails , to ranch work.
She is a sweetheart and a fun ride. Not for a beginner as she does have some get up and go. She is very feely so needs a light hand and seat. Rae really likes trail riding so would be best suited for someone looking for a partner in the mountains Rae is OLWS N/O Otherwise she is N/N for the other 5.
