Vinny is a striking, unregistered gelding looking for his next partner to help him excel in the dressage ring! With a solid foundation in the local hunter scene, Vinny is well-traveled and behaves wonderfully off-site, making him a pleasure to take anywhere. Currently, he is learning to better utilize his large frame, focusing on improving his overall strength and effectiveness. Vinny is becoming steadily more comfortable in the bridle, learning to accept consistent contact, and showing great progress in his training. He has a trot with incredible suspension, a canter with excellent cadence, and an automatic lead change—making him a joy to ride. Although I don’t have a full history on Vinny, he is up to date on dental, farrier care (basic steel shoes all around), and vaccines. Vinny is sweet, honest, and fun to ride, making him a great choice for a junior or adult amateur looking to take him in a new direction. He has excellent ground manners for the vet and farrier, baths, clips, and cross ties without issue. However, given his size and strength, he would be best suited for someone not easily intimidated by a bigger horse. While his experience outside the arena is limited, Vinny has been hacking out when weather permits. Currently, I don’t see him being brave enough for eventing or fox hunting, but he is set to begin his dressage career this season, and I am excited to see how he progresses in this discipline. UPDATE: Vinny went to his very first dressage show at the Virginia Horse Center and was so professional! This guy hauls like a dream and not worried at all in a new environment. He did Training 3 and First 1 which were very nice. Now he just needs consistent dressage work to make him stronger and I see him going far! Nab him now before I make him a bronze medal horse and his price increase significantly.
