Rosie is as smart and gritty as they come. This mare will work all day long without hesitation. Rosie is soft in the mouth, prefers a bit less option but goes well in a snaffle if you respect her face. She sidepasses, a natural scope and good jumping form. Rosie seems to have a natural herding instinct and happily sorts and herds the cows and goats. She is good around tractors, wheelers, dogs, traffic and gunfire (no, I have not shot off her back). Rosie is always happy to hop in the trailer and has been hauled to many shows and rodeos to camp (no I have not entered her, I'm too tall). She has also been driven and is happy to mosey her way down the road when hitched. Rosie is looking for a child or small adult that is as gritty as she is. She would excel with someone who is confident and wants to chase cattle, throw ropes, or chase cans or poles. Heck she would love to have a kid that wants to do a bunch of exploring in the woods, she just is unhappy being on the back burner. Currently in a mixed full size herd (geldings/mares). Has been pastured with cattle, kept in a 3 strand hot wire fence (except it’s almost never actually plugged in😬) and respects it well. She's been roped all over, nothing phases this pony. Fabulous for the farrier, great for the vet and shots. Never foundered, no lameness issues, no health issues. Did I mention, she also lays on command? Truthfully, this is a once in a lifetime pony. I am realizing she would be much happier with someone more suited to her size and more time to ride. She is not happy being left as a pasture puff and wants to work versus the occasional ride here and there.
