Meet Texas a 2018 BLM Mustang. Texas is from Little Colorado Wyoming and was from a documented herd. So I do have pictures of him out in the wild. Texas was adopted from holding in 2023 and chosen for the Arizona Mustang challenge. He had 60 days of professional training with Jeff Cook at Dream Horse Az and was ridden by his daughter in the challenge. Texas has a big motor and would excel as a ranch horse or even roping. He has been exposed to all sorts of things and even was on trial to be a border patrol horse but unfortunately at 14.1 hands tall he didn’t make the cut for that reason. Texas is easy to catch and handle. Good for the farrier, stands to be mounted and tacked. Stands tied. Can side pass both directions and pivots. Loads in stock or slant trailers. Had exposure to cattle and had a rope swung off him. He’s been on the trail a handful of times but has recently just been sitting. He needs a job. Again he has a large motor and my 6ft husband rides him with ease so don’t let his size fool you.
