I’d like to sell this beautiful saddle made by master saddlemaker, Art Holling, owner of Double H Saddle Shop in Elko Nevada. Prior to opening his own shop Art had been a saddlemaker at Porter Saddles in Phoenix and then at JM Capriola in Elko. I purchased the saddle from JM Capriola on consignment in 2000 after Art had retired. It has always been a joy to ride.
The construction is pure perfection. It’s hand-tooled but not overdone and has 4 silver conchos. The tree is a semi-quarter horse. I know sizing saddles is not easy. The leather on the saddle is very thick, so estimates on the seat are 15” to 15.5”, probably a 16’ on the tree. The gullet is around 6”, but again it’s hard to measure. The initials “BML” are stamped behind the seat.
The saddle has some minor imperfections from use. There are some light colored speckles on the horn. There is some wear on the right stirrup. I have more pictures on request.
