Selling our 6 year old liver chestnut mare. Ruthie (AKA RUE) is a titled mustang from the Paisley Desert herd. She is about 14.1 hands and was part of the Oregon Teens and Mustang Challenge in the summer of 2022. She won first place in Body Composition and 4th place in trail and 4th overall in the Adult In-Hand division! Ruthie was in professional training for several months last fall and has close to 60 rides on her. She is a willing learner and has been started the right way with solid groundwork. She has been hauled to most of our daughter’s youth rodeos the past two summers for exposure. She does well tied to the trailer or in a pen. She is great on her own, both in a stall or a pasture. If turned out with others, she is at the top of the herd. Been around dogs, tractors, goats and does great. She is current on all vaccinations and in great health. Good for the farrier. She is very joined up. She had liberty work done with her in the beginning. She is started well and going great. We usually lunge her before we get on her, but have been moving away from that recently as she is settling in to what is being asked of her. She has so much potential to go in so many directions. She has a solid start in showmanship and responds on the groundwork effortlessly! Ruthie loads and hauls, is good with farrier, and has been clipped and bathed a few times. She stands still for a saddle, bridle and to mount. She is great on the trail, VERY STURDY! Selling due to no fault of her own...just not having enough time to work with her consistently. We are focused on our other horses as well as our daughter's rodeo interests. Looking for the right fit for Ruthie as she is very much a part of our family! She is such a sweet, sensitive girl.
