"Surge" is a big, tall gelding by Bernardini out of Dream Rush, by Wild Rush, that has an elegant presence. 2014 TB gelding. Very dark bay, sticked just under 17.0 hh. Tall and elegant. Located in Mid TN. He had been on the back burner for a couple years with sporadic rides. We have put him back into work this spring. He has had regular training rides over the last couple months. He’s progressing nicely. Super willing under saddle, and not difficult to ride, though I’d still consider him green. He has a nice natural way of carrying himself. I entered him in three virtual dressage shows at Intro level, and he scored a 70.0% and won one of his classes and had a 66.56% and 65.313% in his other classes. He has 3 nice gaits. He’s been started over jumps as well up to 2’6”, but has not been shown as he’s still learning. He has had no soundness issues. He can be fidgety on the ground, therefore not for a beginner/intermediate. He does not crib, bite, kick, bolt, or rear, but he can nod his head in his stall when he’s waiting to be fed, though he doesn’t move his feet (like a true weaver). He will need someone who is very familiar and comfortable with OTTB horses, so for that reason he is not a horse for a junior nor beginner. With the right adult, he will go far. He would likely make an excellent restart for a professional or for an AA in a program.
