Smokie is a 16.2 hand 9 year old Quarter Horse.
His breeding is the thoroughbred side of AQHA but he’s not appendix and has that wonderful QH mind.
He has been doing very well in cross country and Hunter Jumper Classes. Brave to a fence and super willing. He loves to jump and is quite scoopy. Very broke and soft in the mouth and body. He’s not hot but not a dead head either. Very smart and a real people pleaser. Has no buck or rear, no bad habits to deal with. Easy keeper with no special maintenance. Novice rider safe but not beginner suitable as he’s very responsive to the ride and will not do well with mixed signals. Has lots of get up and go for a more advanced rider yet laid back enough to enjoy a leisurely trail ride.
He has been hauled a lot and is pretty bomb proof, not bothered by noise, flags, or the hustle and bustle of shows. Jumps in any trailer and backs out. Great ground manners, easy to shoe, worm, blanket etc. Up to date on everything, teeth, shoes, worming vaccines. Sound, Vet check welcomed.

I had wanted to get back into Jumping and Eventing but with a very demanding job, and 2 elderly folks to take care of I don’t have time. He is too nice a horse to let sit in the pasture. I am willing to let the him out on a short trial if the situation is right for all involved.
He has been out in pasture all winter as I was in Ireland dealing with a family tragedy and then the weather was bad and I also got busy at work.
Last week I pulled him off the spring grass, threw a saddle on him and he rode off like he was ridden all year. This is a super NICE horse just needing his person who has the time to bring out the greatness in him. Call or text me for more photos and videos.
