Brooks is a beautiful red dun blm mustang from Palomino Buttes HMA, OR. He is broke with a great foundation and is ready to go to work for you. Brooks has manners and respect for whoever is handling him. He’s easy to catch/halter Stands tied politely Grooms nose to tail with no hesitation Stands politely for the farrier Baths Blankets Clips He is hobbled trained Takes deworming paste with ease Good with the vet Loads and unloads in the trailer Respects fences and knows what a hot fences is. Gets along with other horses, mares and geldings. Great with groundwork exercises (round pens, lunges, yields to pressure, backs up, lateral flexion, lowers head, stands to be tacked up and bridled, and…etc) Goes through obstacle courses in hand, and in saddle. Talk/trot/canter with a loss rein Does maneuvers on the ground and in saddle (forehand turns, haunch turns, and side passing) Rides out solo or with a group Rides out in the open fields, down narrow trails, on the road with passing vehicles, crosses water, and has been around farming equipment, livestock and anything else you might encounter out on a ride. He has gone to perrydale trails and rocked every obstacle. He will pick you up at the mounting block, the fence or any other object you ask him to step up to. Can crack a bullwhip, or swing a rope off of him. He competed in the Teens and Oregon Mustangs 100 day challenge back in 2022. Where he placed in the top 10 in the riding division. Brooks has a lot to offer and would benefit best from a confident intermediate or experienced rider. He does best when he can be used regularly, he’s not one that can sit for long periods of time (multiple months) and pull out and jump on, without round penning or lunging first. He has been seen by the vet and treated for ulcers last summer (2023) and was clear when last checked this fall. He is up to date on dewormer, feet trimmed, teeth done, and vet checked sound and healthy. With Brooks, you will get a great all-around horse that’s full of heart and grit!
