Talk about a nice young and talented mule. This is 'Hoss the Boss.’ He is a two-year-old John mule who comes out of a 15hh mustang mare (he is about 14hh now, but I would have to measure to be sure). He has received an excellent start in training. He boasts an impressive skillset that includes lying down, side passing to a mounting block, ground driving, stepping onto blocks, crossing ditches and logs, wearing hobbles, and many more useful things. With a positive attitude and eagerness to please, all of these things can be done with ease. Despite being only 2, Hoss has already been ridden by several people and has been saddled multiple times. He shows confidence and remains unfazed even when used as a jungle gym by children -they’ll jump all around him, swing up onto him, and slide off his rear end. He's truly a remarkable mule.
