Looking for a horse that excels in both classical and western dressage while being your perfect companion for relaxed trail rides? Capricho is your guy! This stunning 15.2hh, 6-year-old grade Andalusian cross (no papers) is the complete package. With his elegant movements and smooth gaits, he’s as comfortable competing in the show ring as he is on a leisurely bareback stroll. Capricho began his journey working cows and enjoying trails before heading to Wellington to train as a dressage horse for his amateur owner. He’s a master of neck reining, confidently ventures out for hacks, and can even perform a piaffe on request. His long, flowing mane and tail are the envy of many, embodying the beauty typical of the Iberian breed. Last fall, Capricho made his show debut in Intro Western Dressage, impressing everyone with his calm and confident demeanor. He quickly became a fan favorite, winning hearts with his stunning looks, show ring presence, and sweet nature. Currently, Capricho is in full professional training with a Grand Prix dressage trainer, where he’s been honing his skills in classical dressage. He’s responsive to seat aids, light in the hand, and always eager to please. Ready to compete at Training Level, Capricho has well-established leg yields and shoulder-in, with First Level just around the corner. His athleticism and willingness make him the perfect partner for a rider looking to move up the levels. In between dressage training, I ponied my WB gelding off of Capricho (my WB gelding would always bite Capricho while being ponied and Capricho did not mind). Capricho has also dabbled in mounted archery and allowed riders to shoot a bow and arrow off his back at the walk and trot. Capricho also enjoyed trailering out to riding trails with his gelding friends and riding over poles in the field. This sweet boy is only available for a new home as I am moving. I enjoy riding him because his gaits are so smooth and he's a good boy that listens very so I can focus on myself while riding him. After a brain injury, I am very careful of the horses I ride and he is on the top of my list for being safe and quiet for me. I feel confident on him and can relax while riding him. His impeccable ground manners, calm disposition, and willingness to stand quietly for hours make him the ideal companion, whether for grooming, braiding, or simply spending time together. He also has NO vices. He can live outside 24/7 or in a stall as he has done both. He safely turns out next to geldings. Fly sprays, stands for the farrier/vet, bathes nicely, takes tube dewormers, and also knows how to ground tie. He is an unbred stallion, but could be gelded at buyers expense if desired (and stay at his current farm for healing if needed). However, his temperament has "earned him the right to keep his pair". He is stabled across the aisle from four mares. He talks politely to his ladies but has never put a hoof wrong. We have never had an issue riding mares or geldings
