Carmel Macchiato is the perfect all-around horse for your kid, tween, or young student to get to do a bit of everything on! Has been in regular work in a consistent lesson/training program and ready to show! Macchiato has shown Crossrail hunters and flat classes at Paso Robles Horse Park and was usually in the ribbons with his rider, was his rider's first two shows. Walk/Trot/Canter solid, nice jog/sitting trot, has canter leads, can get flying changes on course, very easy to do simple changes. Easy transitions, does trot poles, has gymkhana experience as well. Jumps up to 2' does not care about what the jump looks like. Used to flowers, boxes, bright colors, etc. Gets along in pasture with other horses. 15 hands, good weight, only wears front shoes! UTD on shoes with an excellent farrier, UTD on shots as well. Does fine in pasture or pen or stall. Typical paint personality, not spooky, can be occaisonally barn sour or lazy/stubborn, easy to correct. Not complicated to train. Very used to dogs, barking, cattle, tractors, sprinklers, cats running through the arena, kids on trampolines, night riding, etc. Taught both mom and daughter to ride and jump low jumps over the past 3 years, two beginners have done all the things with him: bathing, grooming, braiding, riding bareback, trailering and shows! Now sadly outgrown and his teen is ready for her next show horse to jump higher on. Macchiatto is ready to teach his next rider how to do a variety of fun things!
