Arrow was born and raised on our farm. She was on the back burner until she wasn’t when we lost all our building, fences and best saddle horse in a storm in August of 2020. She was sent to be started and came home cinchy. She spent the summer of ‘23 with clinician Scott Stokes. In the spring of ‘24 she was getting a tune up with another trainer and she hung both hind legs up in a pipe fence. She is healed but has some thickening to her hind cannons. She has been ridden since her injury but i am listing her as a broodmare. She can be ridden but it will take some additional work. Her sire has produced APHA point earners in reining, WP, trail and barrels. Her mother was an own daughter of Powder River Playboy and out of a NCHA money earning dam. She was quite the penning horse in her day. We owned both parents and this the last foal from this cross. Arrow has exceptional ground manners, trailers, ties and has been pastured with many different horses over the last few years. She is definitely cow bred and has a little more of a watchy personality but there’s not a malicious bone toward people in her body. She is a very sweet mare to handle. Listing her for sale is one of the most difficult things I have ever done. But I have two others younger I am working with and it’s just time to find her the right home. Her mama had 17 foals (15 from this cross) and with her pedigree she’d make a great broodmare. Or spend some quality time with her and finish up her saddle skills. She is sound but is tight on the trot in the hind which does not seems to bother her but it is noticeable. Short video of her under saddle is available. All pictures taken in August 2024.
