Okie Blackbird is a 12 year old, 15.2h dappled dark brown. Wins in the low jumpers up to .80s/.85s (2'9) has gotten Champion of the .80s Jumpers at Paso Robles Horse Park many times and also at local shows. Sadly does not want to jump higher than .90 at home, and his owner is off to college and ready to ride on her college equestrian team and jump some bigger jumps! Perfect for a teen who wants to learn the ropes of getting to show jumpers. Goes forward, comes back, turns, always in a happy mouth D ring at shows and home. Spurs not required but we usually ride him with a crop. Has been used to teach jumping lessons on, in Pony Club, and has been hauled plenty. UTD on shoes, vaccinations, etc. Has active USEF and USHJA membership. Not herd sour with other horses, great in the warm up ring, great about leaving the group. His teen regularly trail rode him around the property bareback. Has done some light cross country at Ram Tap as well. Has a "sour patch kid" ponyish personality, can be grumpy at feeding time and during girthing, but likes to please under saddle and loves his girl, who has just outgrown him. Would be suitable in a lesson barn for your intermediate riders that need to learn jumping skills. Currently gets hock injections 1-2 times a year, not on any bute or other maintenance.
