Looking for a new pasture! Shooter AKA Lloyd Christmas is a 13 year old grade QH gelding. Smokey black. I have copies of both parents papers. He is 15’2 hh. Currently barefoot Loads, hauls, ties, good for the farrier, Shooter has been used for local shows, started lightly on the pattern, and was cowboyed off of, but never roped off of. Packs a bridle or a Snaffle, Beautiful lead changes, big stride, stops, and overall has a beautiful handle. He would be perfect for someone wanting to start learning how to ride a reining horse. Very forgiving. Take him and go do a reining pattern. Doesn’t want to plant without sliders though. Cons - He needs to be ridden consistently, He’s not a horse that sits. Needs a good week to get his mind back. Isn’t good on the trail unless he’s being ridden consistently. Will act like an idiot if you take him out after sitting. Selling him because my husband doesn’t get along with him. He has two brain cells when it comes to Being social. Middle man on the totem pole. You see those bite marks on him? He just lets the horse in the neighboring pen do that. Again and again. Doesn’t even try to get away. I’m not kidding when he I say he is a blonde girl at heart. Pros, when ridden CONSISTENTLY this horse is amazing. He is an absolute staple in my lesson program and I start everyone on him. From your grandma to a 4 year old. Always in a controlled environment with supervision. This horse is at his best when you are using him a few times a week. Would honestly make an amazing ranch riding show horse. Intermediate to experienced riders would do best on him. If left sitting he needs and absolute solid two weeks before he’s reliable. He is an absolute arena princess, he HATES bugs and needs shoes if you are going to attempt trails on this diva. I almost sold him last year, but my lesson program grew and I needed him. Reason for selling now is that I need a husband horse that my husband can catch in the feild after sitting and my husband can take to a branding. We are located in Susanville CA. Vet check at buyers expense. You have to come ride him. Will not sell him sight unseen. No tire kickers. Will not sell to someone that wants to flip him or a first time horse owner.
