UPDATED YOUTH VIDEO AVAILABLE. 214-449-8028 “Sailor” is a gorgeous bay AQHA registered, 2015, 15.1H, stout gelding. With Topsail Whiz and Hollywood Dun It on his papers, this guy is built to last a lifetime. He has been shown successfully in the East TX Stock Horse Association by a 10-14yo youth boy and his grandmother. Finished in the ranch reining, ranch pleasure, ranch riding, ranch trail, and has even dabbled in a few cow-horse clinics too.One word. Transitions. This horse is down right fancy, smooth, and so crisp, he can do them with his eyes closed. Sailor is so broke, and such a dream to ride. He has also been ridden extensively outside on the trail, Sailor does not look to spook and has a fantastic brain in and outside the pen. If you are looking for something that is super personable, gorgeous to boot, and has gorgeous movement that you can sit all day long…you need to put this guy at the top of your list. You will not find one nicer.Sailor is balanced, comfortable, and extremely uncomplicated to ride and handle. You can easily show him at the all-breed show and win the all around. We have even ridden him under dressage tack, and he comes into the bridle beautifully. This is one that could transition to the western dressage industry overnight with how gorgeous he moves. He was originally started as a reiner, so all the maneuvers are there; he is soft, responsive, and uses his body correctly. He is tuned in and geared just right, he isn’t overly “feely” where someone could get in trouble and end up left in the dirt, but also not dull where you have to kick on him either! Gentle, quiet, sane but still a performance horse with buttons. Sailor side passes, has a flying lead change, spins, guides 1 handed in the bridle, goes softly in a snaffle, etc. You can drag a log, shoot a gun, and cruise the obstacle course bareback without a problem. The type of horse you can hop on bareback in a halter and ride up from the field. We have found that he does not like a rope being swung over or around his head, I do believe he has been hit with a rope at some point in his life. Sailor will cross any obstacle out on the trail, navigate over fallen branches, and walk thru streams/water. Often ridden alone in the field by an older lady – he will go with a group or solo bravely. He rode great in traffic and doesn’t mind banners/ strollers/ drones/ wild animals/ cattle/ dogs/ tractors etc. If you need to pony another horse, he can do that too. He is super sure footed with big black strong feet. Load him up and take him anywhere you want to.Currently fat, slick, and under lights at night. Shod up front in regular shoes, barefoot in the hind (has worn sliders in the past). A gentleman for the farrier/vet, respectful ground manners, stands for mounting etc. Easy keeper and gets along wonderfully with others in a herd.
