River is a gorgeous AQHA 5 year old (6 in the spring) who has been professionally started for Western Pleasure and Trail. He has been to several local horse shows in the North West and has done very well. Always a crowd favorite. He has amazing bloodlines on both sides, and definitely looks just like his Grand Sire Lazy Loper.

River is a hard worker and enjoys being challenged. He especially likes the Trail course and is great at getting focused and engaged.

We had hoped he would be a good kids horse, but he needs some maturity before he will be ready for the nieces. I have been showing him the last few season to prepare him for the littles, but he still relies on a confident rider for his own confidence. Definitely still has baby tendencies, which is endearing if you are a good rider and connect with him. He really tries hard in the show ring and I have really enjoyed his consistency in his gates and transitions. He needs a little refining with his headset, but I haven’t messed with him head much, as he settles in once he is warmed up and doesn’t need any contact with the bit.

River has done a little work with cattle and does enjoy it. He could go in almost any direction at this point, moves out nicely at the trot, collects naturally, has a naturally slow lope that is very nice to ride. He has also been spur trained. Video on request.
