2016 APHA Mare by Sophisticated Catt. 14.3hh. Loads in trailer, stands tied, stands for farrier, bathes, ties. Up to date on all vaccines, teeth, and worming. Don’t let this typical “red mare” scare you away. This is a been there done that kind of gal. She had done everything from working cows in the sorting pen, cutting lessons, obstacle trail challenges, climbed any mountain you pointed her at, horse camping. Rides alone or in a group. Very light with all leg cues, very responsive. Walk, trot, canter, picks up leads, nice stop, easy back up. All the buttons, just needs someone that knows how to use them. She’s been rode hundreds of thousands of miles, and will cross water, drag logs, throw a rope, hobble trained. She really is a fantastic horse with so much excitement to do a job. Would be suited for someone who is experienced, and rides 4-5 days a week. Even if you pull her out once a week she still is honest, and works hard. She just gets more excited, and walks out quickly. 10 miles is an easy day for this girl. This has been my main ride for 7 years, and there is countless people I could refer you to, to tell you how amazing this horse is. I have nothing to hide. She really is an awesome horse. I’m only selling because I just don’t have the ability to ride her 4-7 days a week like she needs. She just needs a job. Ranch riding (with some refinement), gymkhana, mounted shooting, sorting cattle, obstacle challenges. The opportunities are endless with this gal. I’d prefer to see her on a cattle ranch doctoring cattle. Cons: - doesn’t like the nail being pounded into her hooves. Will pull away with her back feet. Not aggressive. Just needs a farrier who is calm to patiently ask for it back. - Fly allergy. In Southern California has to wear a fly sheet all summer. Maybe better if she went north? - Gets board very easily. Would do better in a bigger pen. Needs stimulation. Never been in a box stall. - Doesn’t like dogs. Will go after a dog if they go in her pen.
