Feustel’s Nightshade is an 11 year old TWH mare. She stands 15.3 hands and has been used extensively on our ranch to herd sheep, cattle, horses/mules, fix fence, and for trail riding. Nightshade rides alone and in a group. She can ride front, middle or rear. Nightshade has been our go to horse for new riders teaching lessons or going on trail rides. She is not dead sided and is fun for both advanced and beginner riders. She was bred and raised here at Feustel Farms, trained with Parelli natural horsemanship methods. Nightshade knows the 7 games, is solid for leading, loading, standing tied, getting shod, highline, hobbles, crossing water, bridges, etc. She has been taught to come up beside mounting blocks (or rocks, logs, tires, etc.) for ease of getting on. You can pony other horses off her. And she is very tolerant with new riders fumbling with the reins. Nightshade can do a running walk, pace, flying pace, canter, and trot with enough guidance. We like a trot due to the rocky nature of our pastures. Nightshade often paces because our new riders allow her to. She will need some training to pick up and hold her running walk again. Nightshade is a horse you can pull out of the pasture and get on. We foaled her once and she raised a wonderful mule colt. She is available as we are riding other horses and mules more now, and have a younger mare to replace her in the herd. *Her one bad habit is that she plays hard to catch. I would like her to go to a horse experienced home so this doesn't become a big issue.
