Halsey is a 6year old 15hand American Bashkir curly mare!! If you haven’t heard of the Bashkir Curly horse- here are some facts on them!
-Curlies are claimed to be the only hypoallergenic horse breed!!
-Most people allergic to horses can tolerate Curly horses without having any allergic reaction. Research indicates a protein is missing from the hair of Curlies which may be what causes allergic reactions to horses in people with allergies!
-The Curly has a characteristic long stride and bold movement. They have tough hooves, strong bones and exceptional endurance.
-Curlies are known for their calm, intelligent and friendly personality. They show an easily trainable temperament! They are also known for having a tough constitution and great stamina. -Most people have found that the curlies enjoy being around people. The curlies are typically not flighty. They tend to do more reasoning than most breeds. They are very reliable and have a great work ethic.
-Aside from their hypoallergenic status, Bashkir Curly horses are highly desirable for a number of reasons. As well as being easy keepers and able to withstand extreme weather, these horses are docile, quick learners, and willing partners in a variety of settings.
-The American Bashkir Curly horse has been ridden in Reining, Dressage, Eventing, and Jumping competitions, and it’s a natural for trail, endurance, and Western pleasure riding. Some heavier bloodlines have been bred as draft horses, and this breed also excels in Driving.
-Due to their easy-going dispositions, Bashkir Curly horses make excellent family animals and can be trusted with children. For this reason, they’re also sometimes used in equine-assisted therapy programs!

On top of her sweet and laid back demeanor she is safe for anyone and loves other horses/livestock and people alike. Halsey stands at 15 hands is built like an absolute tank, she has been barefoot her whole life with very hardy feet, she is one of the only horses that we will take into the mountains on rough terrain and steep trails without shoes. Halsey can go English or western, has been ridden over cross rails and even taken on light cross country courses, though it is new for her she shows a passion and a true future in it! Halsey has dabbled in western pleasure, has a nice slow job and lope and stops off of your seat. Halsey is easy and simple to ride, she does not have any fancy buttons which makes her great for kids and beginner riders who need a horse to guide and take care of them.
